Sajama National Park Sajama National Park is located on the western border of Bolivia and borders Lauca National Park in Chile. It is approximately 200.000 hectars in size. The most singular attraction of the Park is the imposing snow covered Mount Sajama, the highest mountain in Bolivia at 21,463 ft (6.542 mt). The mountain can be climbed with a competent guide and appropriate equipment by those fit enough for the rigors of this altitude. It is ranked at medium to high difficulty. Two stunning volcanic cones, Pomerape and Parinacota, stand sentinel to the southwest. Both of these can be climbed even by beginners looking to capture spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and high plains. Sajama National Park also has thermal ponds, where a steaming mineral bath awaits, geysers, numerous trekking trails and Laguna Huayna Khota, where many high Andes birds including beautiful pink flamingos can be seen.
